The Italian boxing organisation of promoter Mario Loreni and local stable Mariani Boxe will stage a terrific show on May 21 in Brescia, Italy, with a six-fight card. In the main event of the night, Brunet Zamora (19-0, 8 KOs) will make the fourth defense of his WBA Inter-Continental light welterweight title. The always exciting Zamora won the belt in 2008 and will now take on dangerous contender Eduardo Daniel ‘Pamperito’ Roman (41-4, 8 KOs) of Argentina over twelve rounds.
Zamora is ranked WBA #6 and he has defeated of all the official challengers to face him. With a win over tough warrior Roman, he’s a likely candidate for a world title eliminator after nearly two years of WBA I/C reign.
In the chief support, Italian king at 135 lbs. Luca Marasco (15-0, 5 KOs) will defend his crown against undefeated Emiliano Marsili (20-0-1, 7 KOs), Marasco is the real best prospect of Italian boxing, made his name with his brawling style, his big hands speed and his ‘take-no-prisoners’ attitude. The mandatory challenger, 34-year-old Marsili, is a strong fighter with excellent boxing skills. On paper, the contest could be a candidate for a ‘Fight of the Year’ award in Italy.
Also on the bill, currently WBA I/C and EBU-EU welterweight champ Leonard Bundu (21-0, 6 KOs) will fight strong warrior Ronny McField (13-5-2, 10 KOs) of Nicaragua in a six-rounder.
On the other undercard matchups, hard puncher cruiserweight Cristian Dolzanelli (15-1, 10 KOs) faces veteran stablemate Paolo Ferrara (25-15-1, 7 KOs), rising super featherweight Massimiliano Ballisai (9-0, 5 Kos) battles in re-match decent Nicaraguan Michael Isaac Carrero (9-10-2, 4 KOs) and young heavyweight giant Matteo Modugno takes on his first match as a prizefighter against Alex Szekely (0-1).
