With the news that the Jorge Arce vs. Fernando Lumacad has been moved to Atlantic City, NJ, for June 27th, more news has been released regarding the Zanfer Promotions fight card which originally was to happen in Ciudad Juarez this Saturday night and at the last minute was moved to Tijuana, MX. Now the fight card will be held at the beautiful seaside port of Ensenada, roughly 100 miles south of San Diego, CA. Now featured in the main event will be local Ensenada favorite Joksan “Torito” Hernandez (15-1-0, 9KO) as he takes a huge step up in facing former title challenger Hector Velazquez (51-12-2, 35KO) of Tijuana, MX in a featherweight ten round clash.
The 34-year-old Velazquez is coming a tough loss to Dominican Elio Rojoas in a WBC elimination bout last September while Hernandez, 22, is on a three fight winning streak after losing for the first time to Filipino Bernabe Concepcion in his challenge of the WBC youth title.
Also featured on the card will be the Omar “Business Man” Chavez (15-0-1, 11KO) the youngest fighting son of the Chavez dynasty, facing Marco Nazareth (4-3, 3KO).
The fight card will take place at the Municipal Gymnasium of Ensenada, Oscar “Tigre” Garcia, and will be televised in Mexico by TV Azteca.
