WBC super flyweight champion Tomas “Gusano” Rojas signed a contract extension for three years with Zanfer promotions on Thursday. The deal has left both sides satisfied and pleased. Rojas signed the contract at the Zanfer headquarters in Tijuana. The president of the company, Fernando Beltran, was present. Rojas is excited to be signed with the most powerful boxing promoter in Latin America until 2014. “I am very happy to stay here. It will be my home for the next three years. I have only thankful words for Zanfer, Fernando Beltrán, Guillermo Brito (the director) and the entire staff that has always treated me wonderfully. I’m convinced this was the best decision and I know that good things are to come in my career,” said Rojas.

“I am honored that Zanfer can lead the career of Tomas Rojas, a world champion inside and outside the ring. He is a true example of dedication and perseverance,” Beltran said.

The Tijuana promoter said Rojas is ready for anything, even to unify the super flyweight division or search for a bantamweight title. Negotiations for an agreement that meets the professional and personal interests of Rojas are beginning immediately.

“I’m already in the gym. My promoter, Fernando Beltran, tells me now that I am ready for anything. I want to fight the best in the world and he can make that happen. Everyone wins in Zanfer Promotions and we are also all great friends,” Rojas concluded.

For 18 years, Fightnews.com® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
