Zaveck, Martinez make weight

IBF welterweight champion Jan Zaveck and challenger Rodolfo Martinez hit the scales today in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Zaveck, making his first world title defense, weighed in at 146.8 (66.6 kilograms) and Martinez scaled in at the same weight. Besides the world title fight tomorrow at the Tivoli Arena, SES boxers heavyweight Jürgen Frank (4-1, 3 KOs) and junior middleweight Christina Hammer (3-0, 2 KOs) will see action on the undercard. Frank, at 7’1.25 the tallest active boxer in the world, faces Dusan Pasic. The highly regarded Hammer will take on Danijel Bickei in a six-rounder. Cruiserweight Denis Simcic (21-1, 11 KOs) meets Marko Angermann (2-2) in another bout.
