IBF welterweight champion Jan Zaveck (29-1, 17 KOs) scored a twelfth round TKO over #15 ranked contender Rodolfo Martinez (36-4-1, 13 KOs) on Friday night at the Tivoli Arena in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The much quicker Zaveck was in command from the get-go, strafing the rugged Martinez repeatedly with sharp combinations. The match was finally waved off by referee Ingo Barrabas with :45 seconds left in the bout, although Martinez was still game to continue.

7’1 heavyweight Jürgen Frank (4-1, 4 KOs) had little trouble with 40-year-old Dusan Pasic (3-20, 1 KO) scoring a second round TKO. Frank is the tallest active professional boxer.

Unbeaten female junior middleweight Christina Hammer (4-0, 3 KOs) was again victorious, stopping no-hoper Danijel Bickei (0-6 and kayoed all six times) in round four.

Cruiserweight Denis Simcic (22-1, 12 KOs) stopped overmatched Marko Angermann (2-3) in round four.

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
