Universum Box-Promotion has announced a world championship twinbill on April 17 at the Bördelandhalle in Magdeburg, Germany featuring title defenses on WBC interim middleweight champion Sebsatian Zbik and WBO super middleweight champ Robert Stieglitz. Zbik (28-0, 10 KOs) will meet Domenico Spada (30-2, 15 KOs) in a rematch of their hotly contested fight last July, while Stieglitz (37-2, 23 KOs) defends against undefeated Edward “Eddy” Gutknecht (18-0, 7 KOs).
“I’m very happy that I’ll once again get a chance,” commented Zbik, who took a razor thin 115-114, 115-114, 115-114 win in their first fight. “In the last fight against Spada I wasn’t at full strength due to a ruptured eardrum. Now I can set the record straight – and I will!”
The unbeaten Gutknecht stated, “I’ve been waiting for this opportunity for a lifetime. Now I will knuckle down.” Stieglitz said, “He has very strong stamina. But that’s me too, so it should be a competitive and exciting fight.”
