One of boxing brightest young prospects, Juan Manuel “Juanma” Lopez, topped an action-packed night of boxing aired by Telefutura and promoted by Top Rank in association with Puerto Rico Best Boxing at the Coliseo of Puerto Rico Jose Miguel Agrelot in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico.

In the main event Top Rank’s top prospect and Jr Featherweight WBO #3, WBA #8 and WBC #15 ranked “Juanma” (18-0, 16 KOs) did just what his fans came to see, a destruction of overmatched late sub Giovanni Andrade (54-10, 44 KOs) at the 2:59 mark of the first round.

“Juanma” Lopez stated off the round by establishing his jab followed by his powerful left.  Lopez kept applying pressure throwing powerful combinations but Andrade was content on evading and just trying to survive.  The end came when Lopez caught Andrade with a right hook followed by a left uppercut and a right as Andrade was falling to his knees.  Andrade rose on wobbly legs and then proceeded to act as he was badly hurt prompting referee Luis Pabon to stop the bout.  With the win Lopez defends his WBO Latino Jr.  Featherweight Title.

In the co feature Roman “Rocky” Martinez (16-0-1, 9 ko’s) scored a 3rd Round TKO over veteran Genaro Trancazos (21-9-1, 12 ko’s).

Both fighters started the round feeling out each other, towards the final minutes Martinez was closing in on his opponent and found his range starting to land solid combinations.

The second round started just as the first but a Martinez over hand right followed by a barrage of punches sent Tracanzos to the canvas.  Trancazos rose up to the count and Martinez went quicky for the kill, but Trancazos gave a brave effort as both fighters traded bombs throughout the ring with Martinez getting the better of it.  In a rare event mid into the round Trancazos corner threw in the towel but the Referee did not see it at the time, when the referee saw it he threw it back to the corner and continued the bout.  At the end of the round the Mexicans corner said it fell, the Puerto Rican boxing commissioner intervened and almost stopped the fight, but due to Trancazos not being hurt e proceeded to let the bout continue.

In the third Martinez went for the knockout, Trancazos fought back bravely and landed in occasions but the younger Martinez fire power was just too much, a barrage of punches prompted referee Ramon Solis to stop the bout.
