WBC super welterweight champion Vernon Forrest sounds more than ready to defend his title against "The Contender: Season One" winner Sergio Mora. Displaying an edge rarely seen, Forrest unloaded during a teleconference when upsets by Contender stars Alfonso Gomez and Brian Vera were mentioned. "I'm no Arturo Gatti nor am I Andy Lee. You've got to realize who you're dealing with. I'm completely another level....there won't be no upset come next Saturday, so trust me on that one. You can forget about that sh*t!" (More to come)
Forrest battles Mora and WBA welterweight champ Carlos Quintana rematches Paul Williams on June 7th in a great world championship doubleheader on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING (live at 9 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the west coast) from the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.
