Thursday, May 15 2008

Highly regarded unbeaten welterweight prospect "King" James De La Rosa (16-0, 12 KOs) has signed a promotional contract with Dino Duva Boxing Promotions and will fight next on ESPN June 13 with the ever dangerous TBD in Scranton, Pennsylvania. De La Rosa is coming off four straight KO wins and stopped James "Spider" Webb (22-3, 19 KOs) in his last fight, February 29th at the Municipal Auditorium in Harlingen, Texas on a Top Rank card that was televised nationally. "King" James wants to keep solidifying himself as a true prospect in the welterweight division, and is the younger brother of "The Contender" season one's Juan "El Gallo Negro" De La Rosa. "I am really excited about this fight. It's a big opportunity for me to shine again." De La Rosa is currently training with defensive style guru Danny Smith.
