Before leaving for the US on Monday night, Manny Pacquiao worked out at a gym owned by close buddy Gerry Penalosa then had dinner with friends at Century Park Hotel in Manila. After dinner, Pacquiao played chess with former business manager Rod Nazario, who had two wins and one loss against Pacquiao. In attendance during the (Japanese) dinner hosted by sportsman extraordinaire Hermie Esguerra were former Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit Singson and former Manila mayor and current Environment secretary Lito Atienza, boxing men Ramon Lainez and Gerry Garcia, gun enthusiast Cris Aquino and members of Pacquiao entourage such as Eric Pineda and Jake Joson and even Jasmine Villegas, the Fil-Mexican singer who belted out the Star-Spangled Banner during Pacquiao's rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez last March 15 in Las Vegas. Pacquiao faces David Diaz on June 28 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas for Diaz's WBC lightweight title.
