Amon Baloyi makes the first defence of his South African lightweight title when he meets Patrick Malinga at the Park Station in Johannesburg on Saturday night. Baloyi 7-3-1; 7 was in outstanding form when he stopped long reigning champion Irvin Buhlalu in the fourth round in East London in May this year to win the title.


South African welterweight champion Bongani Mwelase 11-0; 10 is scheduled to meet Anderson Clayton 29-6; 24 of Brazil for the vacant World Boxing Foundation welterweight belt on September 9 on promoter Blacky Seo of Robs Promotions tournament in Bloemfontein.
Fighting from behind his educated left jab junior welterweight Sicelo Mzobo was just too good for Brian Hlophe as he scored a six round points decision at the Wembley Indoor Arena on Thursday night.
Takalani Ndlovu, 30, meets Fernando Beltran Jnr of Mexico for the vacant IBO featherweight belt in Nashville, Tennessee, on August 22.
Nick Durandt will present his second Prive Boxing Ball at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park on August 16. Heading the bill will Danny Bruwer defending his SA light heavyweight title against Ronnie Lategan and Simphiwe Vetyeka defends his SA bantamweight title against Vuyisile Bebe.
