Now there are reports that Golovkin will be passed over for an opportunity to fight for the WBA’s vacant “regular” middleweight world championship and WBA #2 rated Hassan N’Dam N’Jkam will face #3 rated Avtandil Khurtsindze for that belt — which doesn’t sit well with Team Golovkin. Ishida leaves to US training camp

Rigoberto is the elder brother to sensational Mexican star Saul Alvarez, but he had suffered a couple of defeats in his last five outings to Marco Antonio Rubio (TKO by 9) and William Gare (L12). Ishida, three years his senior at 35, seized the interim WBA 154-pound belt by earning a close decision over Marco Antonio Avendano of Venezuela in August of the previous year and decked his first defense against Oney Valdez of Colombia via lopsided decision here last December. Tournaments have become so popular everywhere in the world, as that might be a sort of remedy to get back people’s interests in Sweet Science. We, in Japan, witnessed finals of tourneys among rated contenders to decide mandatory challengers against national champs for the forthcoming Carnival of Champions on Sunday in Tokyo, Japan.

KO artist Ebisu made a good start, but as the seasoned campaigner Ujiie started his retaliation in the fourth, the younger prospect visibly slowed down with his continual body attack only to hit the deck twice for the count.
