Good night of boxing in Sweden!

December 18, 2007

It was a good night of action in Gothenburg Tuesday night (18/12) when Shadow Pro Box headed by female promoter Anne-Marie Stocks had their inaugural show at “Trädgår’n” in the centre of Gothenburg, Sweden.

A card with six fights was on the program, topped by local junior middleweight hero Daniel Hartvig (3-0, 1 KO) against slightly heavier Bosnian Southpaw, Hamid Semic. The Swede had to dig deep to secure the win and it was terrific evenly matched contest over six two minute rounds that provided the crowd with loads of action. Semic was strong, durable and very quick, even though Daniel was the better of the two throughout the fight. Scores were 59-55, 58-56 x2 in Harvig's favor. Hartvig improved to 3-0, 1 KO.

Romanian Giulian Ilie (light heavy) dominated an exciting four rounder with previously unbeaten German Lars Buchholz (now 7-1, 4 KO:s). The Swedes has almost adopted the eastern European as their own, significantly, Ilie had both the Romanian and Swedish flags on his trunks.

French-based Romanian, Mihaita Mutu at junior middle out punched, out skilled and out fooled strong but limited German Victor Dick over four rounds.

Flashy lightweight Tarik Charafi of Gothenburg, Sweden, got himself into a wild and uncontrolled fight with Hajrudin Serifovic of Bosnia. The pair clashed heads in the second round (unintentionally) and the Swede sustained a bad cut on the head which enabled him to continue, it then went to the scorecards and was declared a draw.

Female junior feather, Katrin “Enock” Enoksson scored an impressive, very popular first round knockout over Steffi Meyer of Germany. Katrin came out very aggressively, aiming for a KO, cornered Meyer, and fired away, the German girl was immediately stunned, dropped twice and rescued by the referee (the towel came flying and the referee didn’t even bother to count).

One of the more solid performances of the card was featherweight Rickard Lundby who took a workmanlike victory (on points) over strong German Nico Schroeder. Lundby’s uppercuts were true textbook stuff, Rickard now 4-0 as a pro.
