Urango earns title shot!
"Iron Twin" ready for Malignaggi after scoring

Former IBF junior welterweight champion Juan Urango (20-1-1, 16 KOs) got back into the title mix with a spectacular fourth round knockout of Carlos Wilfredo Vilches (53-8-2, 31 KOs) in an IBF eliminator for the #2 ranking on Wednesday night at the Seminole Hard Rock Live Arena in Hollywood, Florida.

The southpaw former champion got off to a good start by dropping Vilches with a right hook at the end of round one. Urango continued to stalk Vilches, finally flattening him with a brutal right hook to end it in the fourth at the 1:45 mark. Vilches was down for several minutes.

"I don’t look for the knockout, but I feel that whoever I hit, I can knock out," said Urango, who is now the leading contender for Paul Malignaggi's IBF junior welterweight crown.

"I'm happy with my victory and I can't wait for the opportunity to win a world title again. My training for this fight was better than ever and the results proved that. I'll be even better for my title fight."

Unbeaten WBA #8/WBO #7 ranked middleweight contender Joe Greene (19-0, 14 KOs) scored an impressive ninth round TKO over rugged Joshua Okine (18-4-1, 12 KOs). Greene was deducted a point for a low blow in round two, but used his speed and boxing ability to break down Okine flooring him twice in round nine before the bout was stopped at the 2:00 mark.

In a walkout bout, WBC #10 welterweight David Estrada (22-4, 12 KOs) scored a second round knockout over Alexander Pacheco Quiroz (14-6-1, 12 KOs). Estrada was credited with a knockdown in round one however it looked like more of a pushdown. Estrada knocked Quiroz into the ropes in the second round, getting credit for another knockdown. The bout ended moments later when Estrada knocked out Quiroz with a big right hand. Time was 2:45.

286lb Olympian heavyweight Wilmer Vazquez (6-0, 4 KOs) battered game and previously unbeaten Rodney Wallace (4-1, 4 KOs). Vazquez, who outweighed Wallace by 71 pounds, finally opened up with an impressive attack that finished Wallace. Time was 1:45.

Othre Results:

Hot Warriors Boxing jr. welterweight prospect Kenny Galarza (5-0, 5 KOs) demolished Amaury Torres (2-6, 1 KO), dropping him three times in round one, and once in both rounds two and three. The slaughter was finally halted 30 seconds into round three.

Unbeaten jr. middleweight Wilford Scypion (6-0, 5 KOs), son of the 1980s middleweight contender Wilford Scypion, punished William Ganes (0-2) until the bout was stopped in round four.
